Sustainability
At RiskFire, we believe that the work we do should go hand in hand with protecting the planet. As a fire safety company, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, managing resources responsibly, and working towards a sustainable future.
RiskFire is committed to continual improvement in sustainability. We view every project as an opportunity to reduce emissions, minimise waste, and contribute to a safer, greener future. Our long-term ambition is to achieve Net Zero through responsible practices, collaboration with our supply chain, and investment in renewable technologies.

Green Travel Policy
We encourage greener, more efficient travel through initiatives like carpooling and the Cycle-to-Work scheme. Our fleet is fully ULEZ and Clean Air Zone compliant, and we use smart route-planning software to reduce unnecessary journeys. This approach cuts emissions, lowers costs, and supports a more sustainable way of working.
Solar Energy Initiatives
Our head office is powered by 64 solar panels, generating clean, renewable energy for our daily operations. By producing our own power, we reduce reliance on fossil fuels and demonstrate our commitment to a low-carbon future.
Carbon Reduction Plan
We actively monitor and manage our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, using data to measure progress and identify new opportunities to lower our carbon footprint year after year.
Fully Electric, No Gas
Our head office runs entirely on electricity, with no gas usage at all. This reduces emissions, improves air quality, and provides a healthier, more energy-efficient working environment for our team.
Waste & Resource Management
Community Wood Recycling (CWR) Partnership
All unused or excess timber from our projects — such as fire door lipping and panels — is donated to Community Wood Recycling. This not only diverts materials from landfill but also supports local job creation, training, and social enterprise initiatives.
Rockcycle
Through our partnership with Rockwool’s Rockcycle scheme, we collect and return waste batt materials from our projects for reuse. This reduces construction waste and helps close the loop on material recovery.
Accurate Material Quantities
Using our Onetrace software, we calculate precise material requirements for every project. This reduces over-ordering, prevents avoidable waste, and ensures efficient use of resources across all sites.
Scrap Metal Recycling
All recovered metal components — including hinges, handles, letterboxes, and panels — are carefully separated and sent for recycling, ensuring materials are repurposed rather than discarded.
Sustainable Sourcing
We prioritise suppliers that share our environmental values, such as FSi, whose packaging contains 30% recycled material. By choosing partners who are committed to reducing single-use plastics and improving sustainability, we help strengthen a greener supply chain.
Supply Chain
Certified Suppliers
We work with trusted partners, such as FSi, who hold ISO 14001 accreditation and share our commitment to sustainability. Collaborating with like-minded suppliers ensures environmental responsibility is embedded throughout our supply chain.
Local Supply Chains
Wherever possible, we source materials locally. This reduces transportation emissions, supports regional businesses, and shortens delivery times — creating both environmental and economic value for our community.
Biodiversity & Natural Environment
National Trust Partnership
For every doorset replacement we complete, we donate a tree through the National Trust’s Plant-a-Tree programme. This helps restore UK woodlands, protect biodiversity, and offset carbon emissions.
Safe Use of Products
Every product we use undergoes a full COSHH assessment to ensure it’s handled and applied safely. This minimises environmental impact and protects both people and ecosystems.
Specialist Installations
We work with ecologists and wildlife specialists, particularly on heritage and listed sites, to safeguard habitats during installations. This ensures our fire safety work enhances buildings without disrupting the natural environment around them.
Carbon & Climate Action
Sustainable Fleet
Our vehicle fleet is fully ULEZ and Clean Air Zone compliant, and we’ve introduced electric vehicles to further reduce emissions. By employing local technicians wherever possible, we also minimise travel distances and support low-carbon operations.
Cycle-to-Work & Carpooling
We promote sustainable commuting options to help employees save money, reduce emissions, and enjoy a healthier work-life balance.
Smart Software
Digital planning tools help us coordinate projects efficiently, reducing the number of site visits and unnecessary travel. This saves time, lowers emissions, and supports smarter resource use.
SME Climate Hub Commitment
We’re proud to be
SME Climate Hub committed, joining a global community of businesses taking measurable action towards a low-carbon future. This commitment strengthens our environmental social value efforts by holding us accountable to continuous carbon reduction, transparency, and sustainable growth.
People & Culture
Training for Efficiency
Our operatives receive training in eco-efficient driving, travel planning, and waste reduction — giving them the knowledge and confidence to work sustainably on every site.
Management Development
Our leadership team continues to strengthen its sustainability expertise. Our HR & Office Manager recently completed an Environmental Sustainability qualification, helping embed sustainable thinking across the organisation.
