Project Overview and Scope

RiskFire Ltd. was appointed as Contractor to deliver passive fire protection remedial works at Stoneygate Eye Hospital, a live and sensitive healthcare environment requiring zero disruption to critical patient services. Working in active clinical zones, RiskFire Ltd. phased operations in close collaboration with hospital representatives to uphold infection control, manage noise and dust, and ensure safe segregation. Clear zoning, barrier protection, and patient-facing professionalism were maintained throughout. The scope included the installation of tested fire stopping systems across both wall and floor penetrations, utilising a combination of Batt and Mastic and HP Mastic in areas requiring enhanced performance and integrity. All works were carried out in compliance with manufacturer-tested systems, with full traceability through our Onetrace digital platform, ensuring Golden Thread principles were met.

Project Controls and Documentation Provided:

  • Full site audit with photographic evidence logged via Onetrace available to client
  • Site-specific RAMS
  • Third-party IFC Certification of all works

Challenges and Solutions

Delivering fire compartmentation in a fully operational hospital presented key challenges related to infection control, limited access hours, and proximity to sensitive patients. RiskFire Ltd. engaged early with the hospital representative teams to co-develop a delivery strategy around clinical priorities. By adopting a flexible phasing model, we conducted works during lower-risk time windows, implemented sealed work-zones, and applied strict clean-as-you-go practices maintaining safety and hygiene.

Outcome and Outputs Achieved
The project was completed on time and within budget, delivering a fully compliant passive fire protection system tailored to the hospital’s operational needs. RiskFire Ltd.’s adaptive approach ensured minimal disruption to clinical services, earning positive feedback from the Veteran Fire Safety Ltd.
