In today’s construction and fire safety landscape, delivering a compliant service is only part of the story. Increasingly, clients, communities and stakeholders expect more — and rightly so.

Social value is about the real, measurable difference a business creates beyond the scope of its core service. It’s the impact we leave behind on people, communities, and the environment long after a project is complete.

At RiskFire, social value isn’t something we bolt on at the end — it’s built into how we operate every day.

Why Social Value Matters

For our clients, social value is no longer optional. It plays a key role in procurement, funding, and long-term partnerships. It demonstrates:

  • responsible use of budgets and public funding
  • investment in local people, skills and employment
  • commitment to wellbeing and inclusion
  • environmental responsibility and sustainability

For communities, it means something even more tangible — opportunity, support, and lasting positive change.

And for us as a business, it keeps us grounded in what actually matters.

What We’ve Already Delivered

Over the past year, we’ve focused on practical, meaningful initiatives that create real impact — not just tick boxes.

Supporting Communities Through Practical Action

We’ve donated decommissioned fire doors to the police, giving materials a second life while supporting essential training activities. It’s a simple initiative, but one that reduces waste while supporting public services at the same time.

Our team has also worked closely with the Phoenix Children’s Foundation, contributing both time and funding to support children and families who need it most.

Raising Awareness & Giving Back

We’re proud to have supported Mind, alongside working towards the Mental Health at Work Commitment — recognising the importance of mental health in our industry and taking steps to actively improve it.

We’ve also taken part in careers events at local schools, helping young people understand the opportunities available within fire safety and construction — opening doors that many don’t realise exist.

Investing in Sustainability

Our ongoing partnership with the National Trust through tree donations reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility. It’s not about offsetting — it’s about contributing positively, long-term.

What We’re Doing Right Now

Social value isn’t a one-off effort — it’s something we build on continuously.

Creating Inclusive Opportunities

We’re progressing through the Disability Confident scheme, strengthening our commitment to inclusive recruitment and ensuring opportunities are accessible to everyone.

Supporting Mental Health in Practice

Our work around the Mental Health at Work Commitment continues — embedding better awareness, conversations, and support systems across the business.

Building Skills for the Future

Through apprenticeships, training, and careers engagement, we’re continuing to invest in the next generation of fire safety professionals — supporting both our industry and our clients’ social value goals.

What’s Coming Next

We’re not slowing down — if anything, we’re just getting started.

Community Fundraising & Events

On 17th May 2026, the RiskFire team will be taking part in the Ashby Soapbox Race, raising money for both Macmillan Cancer Support and the Phoenix Children’s Foundation.

The event is more than just a race. It’s a team-led initiative that brings colleagues together from across the business to design, build and test our own soapbox vehicle while supporting two charities that make a real difference to families and communities across the UK.

Taking part allows us to contribute to our local community in a visible and practical way, while also supporting causes that are close to many people both inside and outside our organisation. It reflects how social value can extend beyond project delivery and become part of everyday business activity.

In the lead-up to race day, our team has been working together on the build, sharing progress across our social channels, and encouraging donations through our fundraising campaign. The initiative supports:

  • community engagement through participation in a well-supported local event
  • charity fundraising for organisations supporting individuals and families across the UK
  • employee wellbeing through teamwork and shared activity outside the workplace
  • stronger connections between RiskFire, local partners and the wider community

Events like the Ashby Soapbox Race show how social value can be practical, collaborative and genuinely meaningful — bringing people together while supporting important causes.

Expanding Community Engagement

We’re planning further school engagement, charity days, and local initiatives — focusing on hands-on contributions that make a visible difference.

Scaling Our Impact

As RiskFire grows, so does our responsibility. Our goal is simple: every project we deliver should create value beyond compliance.

The Impact: Why It Matters

When social value is done properly, the impact reaches far beyond a single project:

For clients: stronger tender submissions, measurable outcomes, and alignment with procurement requirements
For communities: support, opportunity, and increased awareness
For our people: a sense of purpose and pride in the work they do
For the industry: a more responsible, sustainable future

This is what beyond compliance really looks like.

More Than Just Fire Safety

At RiskFire, we’re proud of the work we do — protecting buildings and saving lives.

But we’re equally proud of the impact we create alongside it.

Because in today’s world, it’s not just about what you deliver.

It’s about how you deliver it — and what you leave behind.
